Moon Valley CPR offers BLS, ACLS and PALS courses as well as CPR and First Aid for organizations, groups, and businesses. We teach both Provider and Refresher courses and online blended learning is available.

NOTE:  AHA requires students in classroom courses to have readily available the current version of the student manual.  COVID 19 precautions are being taken and masks will be required for class

American Heart Assocation - Basic Life Support

BLS Instructor

The American Heart Association BLS Instructor Course certifies the participant to teach the BLS for Healthcare Providerse (BLS) Course, renewal course, and BLS Skill Sessions.  In addition, instructors may teach all the AHA Heartsaver programs including: adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, AED use, first aid, pediatric CPR/first aid, and bloodborne pathogens.  BLS Instructor certification is valid for a period of two (2) years.

The classroom portion covers American Heart Association procedures, course guidelines and agendas, instructor challenges, classroom set-up, learning theory, administrative support, and instructor-candidate teaching demonstrations.  . 

NOTE:  Students must hold a current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association to be eligible to take this course.  Proof of the certification should be emailed to info@moonvalleycpr.com before you register. Registrations that are received without submitting a valid AHA BLS Provider certification first will be cancelled.

American Heart Assocation - Heartsaver® First Aid/CPR/AED

Heartsaver® Instructor

The American Heart Association Heartsaver® Instructor Course certifies the participant to teach the AHA Heartsaver programs including: adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, AED use, first aid, pediatric CPR/first aid, and bloodborne pathogens.  Heartsaver® Instructor certification is valid for a period of two (2) years.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider

Initial Course - 2020 Updated Guidelines

Basic Life Support is designed for Healthcare workers, students, and those applying for a position in the healthcare field. Professions that benefit from Basic Life Support are RNs, CNAs, first responders, and hospital/medical center staff.

The BLS course will teach students:

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival, specifically the BLS components
  • Important early use of an AED
  • Effective ventilations using a barrier device
  • Importance of teams in multirescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multirescuer CPR
  • Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

BLS certification is valid for two years.

Duration is 3-3.5 hours, depending on class size and experience.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider

Online Module + Skills session

THIS IS A BLENDED LEARNING COURSE - THE LESSONS WILL BE AN ONLINE COURSE, THEN A HANDS ON SKILLS CHECK BY AN INSTRUCTOR. Certification received in this course will be identical as those from a tradional classroom course

The BLS Provider Online Blended Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages, including providing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device with oxygen, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals.  The course completion card for the online course is identical to the card for the classroom course.

There are three parts to the BLS Provider Online with Skill Check course:

  • Part 1 at your home or office: Online simulation and written test completion (0.5 to 2 hours). 
  • Part 2 (skills practice) and Part 3 (skills testing): Contact Moon Valley CPR at 602-635-9787 when you complete your online learning to schedule a skills session. The skills session will include hands on manikin practice and skills testing with an instructor (1-2 hours, depending on class size and experience).

Additional Info:

  • This is an American Heart Association course. The course includes the updated AHA 2020 guidelines 
  • You will receive your CPR card via email using the AHA eCard system the same-day of the course
  • Your CPR card will be identical to the classroom-based CPR card with no mention of being a blended "online" course.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider

Skills session (Part II and III)

The BLS Provider Online Blended Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages, including providing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device with oxygen, and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. Intended for licensed and non-licensed healthcare professionals.  The course completion card for the online course is identical to the card for the classroom course.

This option is for students who already have their online completion certificate. 
American Heart Association Certification Card received same day after class via email. You can also access and claim your E-Card by going to www.heart.org/cpr/mycards.

Skills duration is 1 to 2 hours, depending on class size and experience

American Heart Association - ACLS Provider

This is a two day course, 6-7 hours each day depending on class size and experience.

Who Needs ACLS: Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS) is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care, and critical care units.  

PLEASE READ: You must first show proof you have taken the ACLS FULL COURSE with the 2015 AHA Guidelines.  

Course Content:

  • Key changes in advanced cardiovascular life support, reflecting the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
  • Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device and use of an (AED)
  • Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
  • Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia

  • Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
  • Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

American Red Cross - Advanced Life Support (ALS)

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) blended learning course provides healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, recognize and care for adult patients experiencing life threatening medical emergencies. The course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The online portion of the ALS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized, focused learning experience for each participant. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course, including the ALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before attending the in-person skills session.

Skills sessions take 1-2 hours, depending on class size and experience. Please bring your certificate of complete, PHOTOS AND SCREENSHOTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course, including the PALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before attending the in-person skills session.

New instructors are encouraged to observe a class before teaching. The lead instructor will discuss class documentation and submission, set up, teaching strategies, and the workflow of a typical class. Instructors must be monitored while teaching their first class and may assist with classes until they feel confident in a lead instructor position.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor

This course will train instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support courses. In order to participate in this course, you must possess a current basic-level American Red Cross Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification or equivalent (AHA or ASHI) and be at least 16 years of age on the last day of the instructor course. Upon registration, it is important that you review and follow the directions on the e-mail attachment sent with your registration confirmation. This is a blended learning course consisting of online content, a precourse skills session and classroom segments. Online material must be completed prior to attending the classroom activities. For more information, please reference the attachment you will receive via e-mail when you register for this course.

 All students must have copies of either printed or digital versions of the following:

American Heart Association - CPR/AED Course

Is this course for me?Please note that if you are a healthcare provider or healthcare student who requires CPR certification then this course will not fulfill your requirements.  Register for the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers course to meet your requirement.

The Heartsaver AED Course teaches adult, child and infant CPR and relief of choking as well as use of barrier devices. Students also get hands-on training with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

There are three parts to the Heartsaver AED with Skill Check course:

  1. Part 1 at your home or office: Online simulation completion (0.5 to 2 hours)
  2. Part 2 and Part 3 at one of our regularly scheduled classes: Manikin practice and skills testing (30 - 45 minutes).

Make sure you have your certificate of completion number (will begin with IMP).Print your certificate of completion to bring to your skills check session. The skills session must be completed within 60 days of the online course completion date.

Additional Info:

  • This is an American Heart Association course
  • You will receive your CPR card via email using the AHA eCard system the same day as your course
  • Your CPR card will be identical as the card received in a traditional classroom CPR/AED course

Make sure you have your certificate of completion number (will begin with IMP).Print your certificate of completion to bring to your skills check session. The skills session must be completed within 60 days of the online course completion date.

American Heart Association - First Aid/CPR/AED Course

For anyone who desires the skills to manage Cardiac and First Aid emergencies. The Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED Online Course includes adult, child and infant CPR and teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the few minutes until professional help arrives.

There are THREE parts to the Heartsaver First Aid CPR/AED ONLINE with Skills Session course:

  1. Part 1 at your home or office: Online simulation and written test completion (0.5 to 2 hours)
  2. Part 2 and 3 at one of our regularly scheduled classes: Manikin practice and skills testing (45 minutes - 1 hour 15 minutes). Contact us at info@moonvalleycpr.com to request your skills session once you complete the online assignments

Additional Info:

  • This is an American Heart Association course
  • You will receive your CPR card at the class
  • Your CPR card will be identical to the classroom-based CPR card

THIS IS A BLENDED LEARNING COURSE - THE LESSONS WILL BE ONLINE WITH A HANDS ON SKILLS SESSION BY AN INSTRUCTOR. Certification received in this course will be identical as those from a tradional classroom course

NOTE:  If you do not receive your keycode link to begin your blended learning, please check your junk or spam mail. The email will be from Moon Valley CPR

This course will prepare you to recognize and care for a variety of first aid, breathing, and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants and meets OSHA/workplace requirements. This is a blended learning course including an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skill session.The online portion must be completed prior to attending the in-class portion and must be taken on a PC or tablet with a high speed Internet connection - cell phones will usually have technical issues.

 Upon completion students receive an Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross

To begin the Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED blended learning course:

STEP 1: Sign up for your Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED blended learning class below. You will receive a link in your confirmation email.
